Being a Foster Child

Hello I am 48 years old now mother to a special needs 17 year old teenager born with Downe's Syndrome at birth I became a foster child at the age of 2 years old and was blessed to be placed in a good home my foster mom and dad were old fashioned and set in their ways got on my nerves sometimes believe both have since passed on I have a half sister Sharon who has 4 children ranging in age from 38 to 18 years old I am a mom aunt and great aunt my youngest great nephew is 16 months old I was born and raised in Virginia I attended Loudon Elememtary School Harrison Elementary School graudated from Patrick Henry High School.

I have been in a the summer youth program from 14 to 18 years old I have worked with Public Works Jefferson National Forest  Total Action Againist Proverty just to name  a few of my summer jobs I have worked with  Service America Vending Company working at Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 5 years until I was laid off I did attend college twice but did not finish majoring in secretial courses I have worked with a temp agency worked at a Subway I have not worked with  Habitat for Humanity, Department of Socail Services, Division of Child Enforcement.

In June of 1979 I enrolled in an CNA NURSING PROGRAM through Friendship Manor Retirement Health Center graduated June of 1979 received my nursing dipolma I wrote a letter in 1979 in which my foster mom won Foster Mother Of the Year I have secretial customer services activites of daily living skills, I have had a long journey to and thank God for my foster mom and dad I could not ask for a better half sister to  well just wanted to share that
